Moshav Band
The Israeli-born Moshav Band grew up on Moshav Mevo Modiim, a musical village located in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Their home, founded by the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, was and continues to be the birthplace of many Jewish songs enjoyed by the world over. Yedid Nefesh
Yedid Nefesh is a 16th century poem that normally kicks off your Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat service. The lyrics are commonly attributed to the sixteenth century kabbalist Rabbi Elazar ben Moshe Azikri and this version features a well-known traditional melody. Interestingly, the first letter of each verse (YEH·DEED יְדִיד / HA·DOOR הָדוּר / VAH·TEEK וָתִיק / HE·GAH·LEH הִגָלֶה) spells G-d's four letter name (י·ה·ו·ה‬). Also, the verse "AH·NAH EL NAH REH·FAH NAH LAH (אָנָא אֵל נָא רְפָא נָא לָהּ) contains the highest amount of vowels in any biblical Hebrew phrase.more
